Rumen-Protected Methionine – ALBA METHIONINE 50 Coated
ALBA METHIONINE 50 Coated is a highly concentrated source of rumen-protected methionine developed to improve amino-acid availability in dairy ruminants. The product contains at least 50% methionine, dispersed within a protective lipid matrix made from vegetable-origin fatty acids and fats, together with calcium carbonate. Methionine is frequently the first limiting amino acid in dairy cow diets, particularly in rations based on corn and soybean meal, and an insufficient supply may restrict the efficient synthesis of milk proteins. By protecting the active ingredient from excessive degradation in the rumen, ALBA METHIONINE 50 helps deliver a greater proportion of methionine to the small intestine, where it can be absorbed and used for protein metabolism, milk production and general productive performance
Controlled Release and High Feed Compatibility
The product is manufactured using spray-cooling microencapsulation technology, which creates solid, spheroidal microprills containing methionine evenly distributed within a lipid matrix. This structure provides protection from external agents and controlled release, helping reduce active-ingredient losses in the rumen and improve overall bioavailability. The microprills offer high flowability, minimal dust formation and excellent miscibility with complete feeds, mineral feeds and premixes, while remaining stable during the pelletisation process. The recommended inclusion rate is 200–500 g per 100 kg of complete feed, mixed thoroughly to ensure uniform distribution. ALBA METHIONINE 50 Coated is supplied in 25 kg cartons with polyethylene inner bags and maintains its guaranteed activity for 24 months when stored sealed in a cool, dry place
