Milk Protein and Amino Acid Support – ALBA LYSINE 50 Coated
ALBA LYSINE 50 Coated is a highly concentrated source of rumen-protected lysine developed to improve amino-acid availability in dairy cows and other ruminants. The product contains at least 50% lysine derived from lysine hydrochloride, enclosed in a protective coating made from vegetable-origin fatty acids and fats, calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate. Lysine is often a limiting amino acid in dairy diets, particularly in rations based on corn and silage, and an inadequate supply may restrict the synthesis of milk proteins. By protecting lysine from degradation in the rumen, ALBA LYSINE 50 allows a greater proportion of the active ingredient to reach the small intestine, where it can be absorbed and used more efficiently. Its supplementation may support milk protein concentration, casein production and milk yield, especially during the middle and later stages of lactation and when combined with an adequate methionine supply
Protected Delivery for Greater Lysine Bioavailability
ALBA LYSINE 50 Coated is produced through spray-cooling microencapsulation technology, which creates solid, spheroidal microprills containing lysine dispersed within a lipid matrix. This structure helps reduce the loss of the active ingredient at rumen level and ensures more efficient delivery to the intestinal absorption site, supporting the cow’s ability to synthesise milk proteins without unnecessary nutrient waste. The microencapsulated format also provides high flowability, low dust formation and excellent miscibility with complete feeds, mineral feeds and premixes, while maintaining its qualitative characteristics during pelletisation. The recommended daily dosage for dairy cows is 20–50 g per animal, while the indicated inclusion rate for other ruminants is 100–250 g per 100 kg of complete feed.
