ALBACID is a concentrated liquid nutritional supplement formulated to improve drinking-water hygiene, gastrointestinal health and animal performance. Its composition combines formic, lactic, propionic, orthophosphoric, butyric and acetic acids with glycerine, creating a synergistic acid blend with a broad spectrum of activity. By reducing the pH of drinking water, ALBACID helps create unfavourable conditions for the growth of bacteria, yeasts and fungi, including potentially harmful microorganisms that may reach animals through water systems. Maintaining cleaner and more hygienic drinking water supports the health of the digestive tract and can contribute to improved nutrient digestion, better absorption, increased weight gain and more efficient feed conversion. The product is suitable for poultry as well as cattle, horses, camels, sheep and goats, providing a practical nutritional solution for farms where water quality and microbial control are essential for maintaining consistent production results.
Synergistic pH Control and Support for Beneficial Intestinal Microflora
The effectiveness of ALBACID is based on the complementary activity of its different organic and inorganic acids. Formic and propionic acids provide reliable pH reduction, while their combination with orthophosphoric acid extends the antimicrobial effect across a wider pH range. Lactic acid further supports the inhibition of undesirable bacteria and promotes the development of a more favourable intestinal microflora. This action is particularly important because drinking water can carry microorganisms such as Escherichia coli, Campylobacter and Salmonella, which generally prefer conditions close to a neutral pH. ALBACID acidifies the water and helps maintain it at approximately pH 4, contributing to microbial control while also supporting digestion in the stomach, especially in younger animals. The recommended dosage for poultry is 0.5–1 ml per 2 litres of drinking water for 20 birds for five to seven days. For camels, cattle and horses, the indicated dosage is 5 ml per 50 litres of water per animal, while sheep and goats receive 2 ml per 10 litres per animal for the same period.
